The story

The 115th Chesterfield County Fair opened August 28 and continues through September 5, offering nine days of traditional carnival attractions and community entertainment at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds.

The fair features rides operated by Jolly Shows, live musical performances each evening at 8 p.m., and competitions including horse shows, rodeo events, and tractor pulls. Attendees can view craft exhibitions, livestock displays, and historical exhibits including "1849 Camp Life" and Heritage Village. Interactive attractions include pig races, chainsaw carving demonstrations, comedy hypnosis shows, science demonstrations, and circus acts.

A new addition this year is a Frisbee dog show provided by Disc Connected K9's. The fair also hosts International Day on August 30 to celebrate Chesterfield's multicultural community. Fairgoers can enjoy traditional fair food and the Chesterfield Cheers beer garden.

The illuminated Ferris wheel is lit nightly with red, white, and blue colors. Grandstand entertainment includes tribute bands and classic performers. Children ages 17 and younger require a parent or chaperone (age 21+) for entry each day.

Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for seniors (60+), $6 for children ages 4-12, and free for children under 3. Weekday hours are 5-11 p.m.; weekend hours are 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday, September 4 opens at 11 a.m.
