Chesterfield County is advancing Phase E of the Fordham Road sidewalk project, constructing a new pedestrian walkway from Country Spring Lane to Gregory Drive. The project is funded through the county's community connectivity sidewalk program and has been awarded to North Construction.

Phase E is the latest chapter in a larger multi-phase initiative designed to eventually connect Hull Street Road to Jacobs Road Elementary School with continuous sidewalk access. Earlier phases have extended the sidewalk from the elementary school to Chatham Grove Lane (Phase A) and from Burgess House Lane to Country Spring Lane (Phase D).

During construction, Fordham Road will remain open to traffic at all times, though travelers should expect periodic single lane closures and delays throughout the project period. The work is expected to wrap up by December 8, 2026. Residents with questions or concerns can reach Blake Winner, the county's project manager, at 804-748-1037 or WinnerB@chesterfield.gov.
