The story
GRTC LINK is offering free curb-to-curb transit service throughout the Clover Dale Zone in Chesterfield County along the Hull Street Road corridor from Chippenham Parkway near Richmond to just past Route 288.
Residents can request rides through the GRTC On the Go mobile app or by calling (804) 358-4782. Vans typically arrive within 20 minutes and will take passengers to any location within the zone. There is no fare for the service. The Clover Dale Zone connects riders to major commercial destinations including Commonwealth Centre, the Village at Swift Creek, Chesterfield Crossing, Rockwood Square, and Harbourside Center, as well as to GRTC's fixed Route 1C and Express Route 82x for additional transit connections.
Service operates Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The service began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at LaPrade Library on March 11, 2024. Ridership has grown steadily, from an average of five daily users in March 2024 to 27 by December 2024, with more than 650 people requesting rides in December alone. By year-end, over one-third of LINK trips involved ride-sharing among multiple passengers traveling in similar directions.
